The Special Program for Voluntary Disclosure was announced in the 2019 Budget Speech. In a nutshell, it is to encourage taxpayers to make voluntary disclosures of unreported income and to pay tax on such income within the limited stipulated period. This program has raised many questions and even scepticism from some members of the public. With this in mind, RDL organised a briefing for clients on 16th January, 2019.
The event began with an informative briefing by Madam Koh Sai Tian, Director of the Inland Revenue Board’s Large Taxpayer Branch, accompanied by Mr. Vijayen Nagalingham, Director of the Special Section of the Large Taxpayer Branch. Following that, Madam Koh and Mr. Vijayen, together with our Vijey M. Krishnan and William Wong, took part in a lively panel session to discuss and address various issues arising from the Special Program for Voluntary Disclosure.
