RDL’s Head of Intellectual Property, Yvonne Ong, was invited by the Malaysian Organisation of Pharmaceutical Industries (MOPI) to speak at its recent Patent Seminar 2020, titled “Strengthening the Malaysian Patents Ecosystem”, held at the Pullman Hotel.
With the audience comprising mainly representatives from the pharmaceutical companies, Yvonne gave an overview of patent law in Malaysia, with an emphasis on how patents affect the pharmaceutical industry. She also gave a heads-up on proposed amendments to the law.
Together with the other speakers, Yvonne was involved in the panel discussion and Q & A session, which was moderated by another RDL partner, Chew Phye Keat.
