Recently, Partner Chew Phye Keat spoke on the topic of “Corporate Liability under the MACC Act:
Building Adequate Procedures for your Organisation” as part of a RDL Seminar series. This is a significant issue in the light of the new provision that will become law in June 2020, namely, an amendment to the MACC Act 2012, that obligates companies to ensure that they have adequate procedures in place for the prevention of corrupt acts by their employees and service providers, failing which the companies and their directors/top management may be liable to fines/imprisonment.
