We were one of the speakers at a panel discussion on the “Role of Arbitration in the Belt & Road Initiative: Perspectives from China and Malaysia”. This discussion centred on various mechanisms for the resolution of disputes that may arise from the “Belt & Road Initiative” – otherwise known as the “One Belt, One Road Initiative” – a programme initiated by China to connect Asia with Africa and Europe via land and maritime networks with the aim of improving regional integration, increasing trade and stimulating economic growth.
The panel discussion was the highlight of a seminar titled “Driving Forces Behind Belt & Road Initiative” jointly hosted by the Asian International Arbitration Centre (AIAC), China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC) and the Malaysia-China Legal Cooperation Society (MCLCS), held on 13th August 2019 at the Auditorium of the AIAC.
