Noor Azanida obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of Malaya in 2017 and commenced her legal practice in 2018 with one of Malaysia’s largest law firms.

Her practice focuses on litigation and advisory work across a broad spectrum of areas, with a primary focus in banking and finance (both conventional and Islamic), property disputes, receivership and insolvency as well as corporate restructuring and commercial conflicts. She has appeared before all tiers of the Malaysian judiciary, both as lead counsel and in a supporting role to the partner leading the matter.

Noor Azanida assists a diverse range of clients, both corporates and individuals. Notable matters include her involvement in a cross-border insolvency disputes concerning a challenge to a lien claim, with complex issues relating to the recovery and realisation of foreign assets in Malaysia. She also recently succeeded before the Federal Court in defending a major Malaysian bank against a fraud allegation arising from the procurement of continuing guarantees as security for banking facilities.

Noor Azanida also has litigation experience in shareholders disputes, having assisted in disputes involving elements of trust and probate across multiple jurisdictions. Beyond litigation, she frequently supports clients from diverse industries through negotiated settlements and advising in strategies involving the mitigation of risks and/or crisis management measures. Her work often extends to overseeing crisis response planning and coordinating effective communication and engagement with government regulators, authorities and/or key stakeholders.

A frequent speaker in client development programs, she often conducts seminar in her area of practice, including her most recent titled “Islamic Finance in the Courts: Trends, Challenges & the Road Ahead”.
