Joyce Teh Yen Yen
Joyce commenced legal practice in another large firm in Kuala Lumpur, where she handled a litigation portfolio involving primarily banking and securities disputes. She joined Raja, Darryl & Loh in 2001 and is currently one of the many partners in the corporate & commercial practice group of Raja, Darryl & Loh. Joyce has over 18 years of experience in the corporate and commercial practice, and her experience includes general corporate and companies laws; mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, takeovers, joint ventures; foreign investments, cross border transactions and foreign exchange control issues; banking & finance; corporate and debt restructuring exercises; commercial transactions; securities or equity dealings and offerings; corporate governance and company law and legal and regulatory compliance advisory and support.
Joyce has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions and has been involved in advising, structuring and/or negotiating cross-border transactions and inbound investments. She has acted in the acquisition and/or disposal of businesses, assets and/or shares, and mergers and restructuring of group companies, across a broad spectrum of industries from manufacturing (of various products), healthcare, aviation, oil and gas, hospitality, pharmaceuticals, logistics, courier services, farming and agriculture, food, education, to travel and tourism, to name a few. She has also advised on corporate transactions in all their various permutations – mandatory general offers, voluntary take-overs and so on. In the course of her work, Joyce has also worked on M&As originating from a diverse list of countries. The M&A practice group of RDL has been described by clients as having a broad scope knowledge and is big enough to be efficient and to provide a comprehensive service to clients.
In addition to her experience above, Joyce leads the firm’s corporate healthcare practice and has extensive experience in corporate, commercial and regulatory matters affecting this industry too. Joyce has advised many clients on healthcare related legislation and regulations, legislation affecting specialised practices and general legislation which impacts the healthcare and pharmaceutical industry. Joyce has been involved in various aspects of this industry from regulatory advisory to documentation in regard to the management and operations of healthcare facilities; the practice of tele-medicine and tele-nursing; the launch of medical, health and/or wellness applications (Apps) or by other new technological means; the sale of medical devices and the registration thereof and advising on the business of aesthetics and cosmetic procedure facilities, to name just a few.
