The proposed abolition of goods and services tax (GST) and its replacement with sales and services tax (SST) is anticipated to produce uncertainties for businesses in Malaysia. To help clarify issues and suggest solutions, the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia (CTIM) has formed a CTIM GST-SST Transformations Working Group (TWG). The members of the TWG, one of whom is our head of Tax practice, Vijey Krishnan, are all leading lights in tax advisory services.
The TWG is slated to provide a series of technical write-ups, working with the well-known financial publication The Edge, and to give educational talks to various businesses and industries, all on a pro bono basis, as a “pledge of support by CTIM to the nation”.
