Christopher K.F. Foo
Christopher was an active litigation partner of another firm, specializing in life and general insurance claims, before joining Raja, Darryl & Loh in March 1994. Since then, his practice has evolved into one consisting primarily of all levels of investment management, unit trusts and trustee-related work with clients from across the whole spectrum of the finance and investment universe, both local and foreign banks, unit trust management companies, asset management companies, fund managers and trust companies. A former independent Council Member of the Federation of Malaysian Unit Trust Managers (now known as the Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia) for more than 10 years, Christopher can lay claim to being the author of most of the documents that are used in the industry in Malaysia today. He has also lectured on unit trusts for the Capital Markets Graduate Training Scheme run by the Securities Commission.
Christopher was involved in and advised on the establishment of 5 of the first 9 Private Retirement Schemes to be launched in Malaysia.
Christopher’s practice also includes more conventional corporate and conveyancing work, including the setting up of joint venture companies involving both local and foreign entities, the drafting of shareholder agreements and the handling of property transactions of various descriptions.
At the same time, Christopher is still very much in touch with his litigation roots at both trial and appellate levels for the firm, especially in respect of life insurance matters. He has been a guest lecturer and examiner on Remedies for final year law students at the Faculty of Law, University of Malaya.
Christopher has been an IFLR1000 (International Financial Law Review) Highly Regarded Lawyer (formerly titled “Leading Lawyer”) for Capital Markets since 2011.TERTIARY QUALIFICATION
